Libertines’ new single will be ‘CAN’T STAND YOU’, NME.COM can reveal.

The band recorded the song for the 'Friday Night With Jonathan Ross Show', which will be broadcast tonight (March 19) at 10.40pm on BBC1.

The song was debuted on their recent UK tour, but this is the first time it has been broadcast in any form. Initially it was decided that ‘Last Post On The Bugle’ or ‘The Likely Lads’ would be a single, however this new song has proved to be immensely popular with the band and fans alike.

In addition to playing this they also recorded ‘Don’t Look Back Into The Sun’, their number 11 hit from last year.

Despite Internet rumours of troubled relationship between Pete Doherty and Carl Barat, the two were on fine form chatting and joking and having their photo taken with guests John Hurt and actor Shane Richie - 'EastEnders' character Alfie Moon.

The band are due to return to the studio to continue work on their follow up to 2002’s debut album ‘Up The Bracket’.
