Pete and Carl reveal mutual love

The Libertines have finally spoken about their one-off reunion.

Carl Barat spoke of his continued love at playing with Pete Doherty again.

Speaking exclusively to NME, Barat said: “Obviously when you’re connecting with someone on that level, even when there’s a soulmatedom and you grow an intrinsic part of your entire ethos of the world with that person then you’re going to remain…there’s always going to remain a vestige, a little light which you can’t extinguish.”

And quelling the rumours of more shows together, Barat said: “We’re both doing different things and I’m really into Dirty Pretty Things…I’m focused on Dirty Pretty Things' new album.”

Meanwhile Pete Doherty revealed that as well as a solo acoustic album, Babyshambles were going into the studio to work on their new album.

He said: "We're going into the studio with Stephen Street later this month."
