Former Libertines Pete Doherty and Carl Barat have reportedly been writing songs together and are considering using them for future release.

According to The Sun, the pair had been writing songs for a musical together before Barat was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, but are thinking of keeping some of the songs to record together themselves.

The newspaper quotes an anonymous source as saying: "Songs have been pouring out of the pair and now they're considering holding back a few compositions to record and maybe release in the future."

Since being hospitalised Barat has told NME.COM that he hopes to be fit to perform with Dirty Pretty Things at Glastonbury.
