Libertines Pete Doherty and Carl Barat reunite for Fashion Week

Duo play live together in London

The Libertines' Pete Doherty and Carl Barat reunited onstage in London last night (September 17).

The Babyshambles and Dirty Pretty Things frontmen played a short acoustic set together in Camden's Prince Of Wales pub, where Doherty had been due to play a solo show as part of London Fashion Week.

Following a solo set from Doherty the pair performed 'Horrorshow', 'Time For Heroes' and 'Don't Look Back Into The Sun' together at the show.

Pretty cool that it was in such a small place but hopefully the the libs wont ever get back together, Arena tours....urgh, just leave the legend (first album obvs) like it is....however if it puts an end to Babyshambles, thats always good.......

I predict Carl & Pete will get back together for an album before 2010. Babyshambles aren't doing that great and the latest DPT album just tanked commercially. Reforming The Libs will become their only sensible option career-wise sooner or later.

Couldn't agree more, Bragdad. Those little reunions seem fun, let's leave things like it. A proper Libertines comeback would totally spoil the myth...the fact that their career was so short is a thing of beauty, in this world where bands far outstay their welcome, and carry on well after they're not relevant anymore.

They outstayed their welcome when they first breathed air... oh yeah, I went there.

Yes, i have to agree with bragdad and billy bones. It was magical and it was just what the music industry needed at the time, but the fact it ended oh so tragically Adds to the whole legend that is the libertines. its nearly 10 years since it all started and unfortunatly the time has now passed. As bragdad stated, we dont want arena tours and the possibility of dissapointing third album. Coz lets face it it would have to be pretty fucking amazing to come anywhere near up the bracket and even 'the libertines'The onlyproblem is, i think it' been on the cards for ages and its a matter of when and not if.

Pete and Carl should just do a proper Libs reunion. If John isn't interested and still involved with Yeti, get Drew on bass (Gary must be on drums). I agree with Pete2ndBest: Babyshambles are ok, but it just glosses over Pete's talent and DPT (sorry Carl) is really not good at all. Pete and Carl were just magical together. Even the Libs' second album is way better than the two records DPT and Babyshambles had released. C'mon Pete and Carl! What are you boys waiting for?!

Seems like for the first time it's actually Carl that needs this more. Say what you like about Pete and despite his problems he can sell out massive shows all on his tod (Albert Hall for example). As somebody said above DPT 'Romance at short notice' tanked and is very average, whereas 'Shotters Nation' has some blindin' tracks!

Folks, the Libertines are never going to reunite as a foursome. It's clear enough from what Peter has said in the past about no longer wanting John and Gary in the band. Furthermore, they are never going to tour. The most you can hope for is Peter and Carl to write, record, and release an albumful, or EPful, or musical's worth of new songs, and play the occasional sold-out acoustic set. And that should be the best you can hope for, too. Up the Albion etc. etc.

err...no

if they are going to reunite the libertines, i wish they would just get on with it but yes a proper tour would probably spoil everything.

the Libertines were genuinely great, and perhaps could still be great , but at what cost? Carl's liver is ready to explode ans Pete is a wreck....i cant imagine those two down the gym preparing for an arena tour!

I think it all depends on whether Pete and Carl can reconnect at the same level. If they've both changed to such an extent that they're now awkward around each other, the libertines are doomed. But looking are the reunion video on youtube, the on-stage chemistry seems to be there.

Pssshh come on people. Be optimistic and stop abusing them. I personally would give away limbs to see them together. Ive seen babyshambles, Dirty Pretty Things and Doherty solo... I just need to see the libs. it would make my life.I think the whole "Will they..wont they?" makes it more intense... :) HAHA... c'mon libs REFORM MANNNN x
