The former Libertine plays the part of Gene Vincent in 'Telstar'
'Telstar', the film about the life of legendary producer Joe Meek, is to premiere at London Film Festival this October.

Barat plays the part of '50s rocker Gene Vincent, while Hawkins plays Screaming Lord Sutch.
Former S Club 7 member Jon Lee appears as Billy Fury - whose 'Wondrous Place' was recently covered by The Last Shadow Puppets as a B-side to their first single and album title track 'The Age Of The Understatement'.
The festival runs from October 15-30. Tickets go on sale on September 27 from Bfi.org.uk/lff.
Other films playing include a documentary about Vashti Bunyan ('Vashti Bunyan: From Here To Before'), and the Anthony Minghella-produced 'Love You More', which features a cameo from the Buzzcocks' Pete Shelley.
