Libertines reunion: Carl Barat speaks about more gigs

Barat speaks to NME.COM about reunion show

Carl Barat has spoken about The Libertines' recent reunion gig, where band members Pete Doherty, Gary Powell and Barat reunited to play live at London's Rhythm Factory.

The trio performed in the early hours of Saturday morning (May 16) at a tribute gig for the late promoter Johnny Sedassy, who used to organise shows for the band.

Barat has since told NME.COM that he "wouldn't rule out" an impromptu gig again, but said he was still concentrating on solo material.

"I can't rule it out, but I'd rather save it [playing with The Libertines again]," he said. "That's not to say I won't get on stage with Pete at some point soon."

The star added that he was continuing to work towards solo gigs and a solo album, hinting that 2010 was still earmarked for a full Libertines reunion.

"Next year is a new year," he said. "We'll see what happens."

Why reunite? Leave it all in the past, Libertines are now irrelevant.

I am a massive Libertines fan but I realy hope they don't reform. It wouldn't be the same and peoples expectations of them would be way to high. They would probably want them to play somewhere like Webley stadium. Besides Babyshambles last album was brilliant so Doherty should just stay with them.

shityourlegoff is truly a lonely individual, but smallpigeon has a cheek to tell him to get out more if they've checked and counted all his comments over the last month...pot, kettle, black.
