Carl Barât: 'I'd love to do another Libertines album'

Singer holds Q&A session with Libertines fans

Carl Barât told an audience of Libertines fans that he would "love" to record another album with the band following their reunion gigs at this weekend's Reading And Leeds Festivals (August 27-29).

The singer, who was playing an invite-only show at London's Levi store on Regent Street, also showcased a short acoustic set featuring songs from his new self-titled solo album.

Midway through the set, he stopped to chat to fans, speaking about last night's Libertines comeback gig at the HMV Forum and his thoughts on the bands future.

Asked by one fan if he thought The Libertines will make another album together, Barât replied: "I reckon so. Of course, we've got that vessel, The Libertines, and of course we want to do other things, but it's a funny old business. Yeah, but ideally I'd love that. We'll just see how it goes."

Barât added: "The Libertines isn't gonna drop dead. I can now get in touch with them and say, 'Look, what process of what band are you in?'"

He went on to play a number of Libertines songs in his set, as well as Dirty Pretty Things tracks.
