Katie Waissel has been accussed of ripping off The Libertines on her new single 'The Ugly Truth'.

Fans took to Twitter in droves to slam Waissel's new track after she performed it live on the Alan Titchmarsh Show yesterday (April 13).

The track, which you can hear by scrolling down to the bottom of the page, bears a strong similarity to The Libertines' 2004 track 'What Katie Did', with both tracks featuring the refrain "shoop, shoop, shoop de lang de lang".

A sample comment from user Ruby Lake saw her state: "What Katie Waissel did... copy a Libertines song really badly".

Another user, Daisy Miller, wrote: "Nice to see Katie Waissel has ripped off The Libertines."

As yet, Waissel has not commented on the similarities.

'The Ugly Truth' is the first single from Katie Waissel's self titled debut album.
