Carl Barât and Pete Doherty rehearse for Libertines gigs 'pissed, lying on our backs' in Barcelona

The two frontmen got together in Spain to practice for summer shows

Carl Barât has discussed his first rehearsal with Pete Doherty since The Libertines announced their reunion.

The Libertines frontman speaks in this week's NME, on newsstands now and available digitally.

In the interview, Barât says he recently went to Barcelona to play with Pete in a rehearsal which involved "playing guitar pissed, lying on our backs outside a Spanish bar". Fan-shot footage of the pair in Barcelona can be seen below.

Asked if there are concrete plans for further practise sessions, Barât is less certain. "You can't make plans with The Libertines. I've got my first lead in a film in Switzerland. I've managed to get time to go to Hamburg to a studio Pete's living in and we're going to get the boys there and rehearse. It's a 'see how it goes' thing. History would suggest it'll go very, very well and then it'll cease for a bit. But I'm happy with that."

Earlier this week The Libertines confirmed details of their second festival headline slot, revealing they will appear at Benicàssim in July. The appearance will follow the band's reunion show at this year's British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park, London, on July 5, which is the group's first live performance since the Reading And Leeds Festivals in 2010.
