The Maccabees played one of the "best gig" of their lives as they brought their 'Wall Of Arms' tour to London last night (October 3).
The five-piece pulled in a huge crowd for their homecoming show at the O2 Brixton Academy, which saw many of their fans singing all the words to their hit singles.
The band also pulled in a brass section for many of their songs as they performed their entire 2009 album and a host of tracks from their 2007 debut 'Colour It In'.
Declaring their love for the venue early on, guitarist Felix White told the crowd: "I am of the opinion this is the best venue in the world. Thanks so much for coming."
Referring to their home crowd a humbled Orlando Weeks later added: "Anyone who knows us, knows this was an important gig for us tonight. It really means a lot for you to come down here."
As the band wrapped up their performance with hit single 'Love You Better', White was so overwhelmed by the occasion that he told the crowd: "I think this must be the best day of our lives."
