British band get extra help on stage in Africa

The Maccabees played a show at the V Inspired Lake Of Stars festival last night (October 16), during which they got locals to dance on stage with them.
The UK indie five-piece played on the main stage at the event, performing on the beach area of the Sunbird Nkopola Lodge on the southern coast of Lake Malawi. As well as inviting dancers on stage they pulled up a fan to play harmonica.
Earlier in the day the band had visited nearby Mangochi to meet locals who were partaking in the MicroLoan project. They met women, with their children, who had taken out low-interest loans as part of the scheme to improve their own businesses.
Later in the evening, following acts including Malawian musician Lucius Banda, they took to the stage and played an hour-long set. Midway through the show a gang of local women burst onto the stage to dance, much to the band's delight. Later still a woman with a harmonica went on stage to add extra instrumentation to 'Toothpaste Kisses', with frontman Orlando Weeks leading cheers for all their onstage guests.
"We can go to Belgium or somewhere, just a ferry-ride away, and not have as many people watch us as here," the singer/guitarist told the crowd, clearly pleased with the turn-out. "So thank you."
After finishing their show with 'Love You Better' The Maccabees headed off stage then into the crowd to party.
