The Maccabees have said that they want start recording and release the follow-up to their Barclaycard Mercury Prize nominated LP 'Given To The Wild' next year.

The band were speaking to XFM about their plans for their fourth album, and explained that once their touring commitments were out of the way, they'd be heading straight back into the studio.

Felix White and Orlando Weeks from the band said: "We're touring right up until the end of the year and then we're just gonna write another record. We've got a studio in London.”

They added: "We're gonna try and calm things down touring-wise and we're gonna try and get a record done by the end of next year."

The Maccabees will play a special show at London St-John-at-Hackney Church on November 23, before supporting The Black Keys on their European tour throughout December, finishing up with two shows at London's O2 Arena (December 12-13).

Last week, the band managed to lose their nomination trophy at the Barclaycard Mercury Prize ceremony. The band's third album 'Given To The Wild' lost out on the main award to eventual winners Alt-J and their debut album, 'An Awesome Wave'.
