Magic Numbers 'glad to be back'

have said two shows in two days was the perfect comeback, on the second day of V Festival at Weston Park (August 20).

The band who completed work on their currently untitled second album used their appearence on the V Stage to preview forthcoming single ’Take A Chance’.

“It was amazing,” singer Romeo Stodart told NME.COM afterwards. “Just looking out today at all the people, it’s the biggest crowd we’ve played. It's great to be playing for fan again.”

Earlier The Young Knives played Virgin Mobile Union Tent, however the gig proved so popular that fans were forced to queue to get in to watch the Oxfordshire newcomers.

Meanwhile on the V Stage Bloc Party proved a big hit with the Stafford crowd who themselves clearly impressed singer Kele Okereke.

“Yesterday was one of the best gigs of my life. But today’s could be even better,” the singer told the audience before launching into ’Banquet’.

He also revealed that it would be a while before audiences saw the band again. “This is going to be our last gig in the UK until next year,” Okereke said. “So let’s make it very memorable.”

Keane also proved popular on the festival’s biggest stage, earning massive sing-a-longs to the likes of ’Everybody Changes’, ’Crystal Ball’ and ’A Bad Dream’ which singer Tom Chaplin described as “the best song we’ve ever written”, as celebrity fans including comedian Peter Kay watched on from the side of the stage.
