The Mars Volta have been forced to cancel their European tour due to illness.
The band pulled out of their current jaunt when frontman Omar Rodriguez-Lopez started feeling ill.
A spokesperson for the band issued the following statement: “The Mars Volta regretfully announces the cancellation of the remainder of its current European tour due to health issues. Band Leader Omar Rodriguez-Lopez began experiencing abdominal pains at the tour's outset that have since become severe to the point of hampering his live performance and requiring immediate medical attention.”
Rodriguez-Lopez is now recuperating and the band hop to resuming again this autumn when they support System Of A Down on their American tour.
