The Mighty Boosh ready album and film plans

The Mighty Boosh's Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt have confirmed that they are working on an album and a film, both of which they hope to release next year.

The comedy duo told BBC Newsbeat that the music album and movie were finally being written, although they were tight-lipped about the details.

"We're writing a film at the moment and an album, so hopefully next year," Fielding said. "I've got to stop doing that," he added, talking about why he wasn't giving details yet. "I've been stung too many times."

Barratt, however, revealed that fans of The Mighty Boosh TV show might not get to see a big-screen effort that was too similar to the series.

"We try and do, on TV, quite magical epic journeys and we thought if you're doing a film we should really do it in one room, basically just kind of a sitcom for 90 minutes," he joked. "So we might do that. We might do exactly what we didn't do on TV."
