The Mighty Boosh's Noel Fielding stages Bryan Ferry-inspired art exhibition
The Mighty Boosh's Noel Fielding opened his latest solo art exhibition at the weekend (July 3).

The comedian kicked off Bryan Ferry vs The Jelly Fox with a champagne and cake reception at Maison Bertaux Gallery in London.

Fielding, who attended the private view in a spotted surgical smock and with his face painted white, was joined by cast members from The Mighty Boosh, The IT Crowd, The Charlatans' Tim Burgess, Vic Reeves and Pixie Geldolf for the evening viewing.

"I'm a bit like a mental patient - I just draw everything anyway, so I've always got loads of stuff kicking around and I can't keep it all," Fielding told NME of his drawings. "Once I've done it I don't want to see it again, so I usually keep it under my bed."

He also explained that the Jelly Fox part of the exhibition was inspired by a cartoon television series he is currently developing, while the exhibition also boasts a "Church Of Ferry", entirely devoted to drawings of Roxy Music frontman Bryan Ferry.

The gallery also boasts an installation that Fielding created with music from Kasabian's Sergio Pizzorno. There is also a wall of paintings by Fielding's brother Mike, who plays Naboo in The Mighty Boosh.

Bryan Ferry Vs The Jelly Fox runs now until January 5 at the Maison Bertaux, which is also London's oldest cake shop.

"It's a tiny weird place, it's like an old auntie's attic," explained Fielding of the venue, which he has annotated by writing on the gallery walls. "I wanted it to be a fun thing, so people could come to it, have a look and eat cakes and hang around for a bit, like a youth club. Rather than having lots of arty people wandering around and leaving after five minutes."
