Noel Fielding: 'I've not ditched The Mighty Boosh'
Comedian says he wants to make film with co-star Julian Barratt
This week's NME cover star said that despite recently launching his new show, Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy, he still missed working with his old comedy partner.
"I miss Julian in the performing more than anything," he said. "His character carries the Boosh – drags it along like a powerful ox. My character is like a fairy, I orbit Julian coming in and out. In this show I've had to carry it, with the other characters coming in and out, and I'm playing a lot of the other characters as well."
He went on to add:
I'm not trying to recreate the Boosh without Julian. I want people to know I've not ditched Julian – he's doing avant-garde theatre.
Fielding also claimed that he was still eager to take the show to the big-screen, adding: "There's always the idea of doing a Boosh film. I think ultimately the Boosh should be a film because we always do narrative and fantastical things. It's hard to make a film out of a sitcom, but not if you travel to other worlds and have monsters and beasts and quests."
