The National's frontman Matt Berninger sings a new song about animals on a forthcoming children's album from The Walkmen's Walter Martin.

Martin, the on-hiatus band's multi-instrumentalist, is releasing a dedicated kids' record 'We're All Young Together' on May 13. Berninger's contribution is called 'We Like The Zoo ('Cause We're Animals Too)' and features the frontman singing about a host of different creatures. Listen to the song below.

Of the song, Walter Martin has said: "'We Like The Zoo ('Cause We're Animals Too)' is my tribute to the lost art of the novelty song. Songs like 'Poison Ivy' and 'Yakety Yak' – all those Leiber and Stoller masterpieces – are a big part of my life. I didn't want to put my name on an album that didn't have room for that kind of song." The album also features Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O on a track called 'Sing To Me'.

The National will play a huge outdoor show at London's Hyde Park on Saturday July 12, in support of Neil Young and Crazy Horse. They'll be joined at Barclaycard British Summer Time by special guests Tom Odell, Caitlin Rose, Phosphorescent and Flyte.
