The Police to perform at the Grammys
It's their first appearance in 23 years
The legendary rock trio will open the ceremony on February 11 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
In their heyday, The Police won five Grammy Awards, churning out hits, including 'Roxanne', 'Message In A Bottle' and 'Every Breath You Take', before they broke up in 1984.
The reunion of original members Sting, guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stewart Copeland coincides with The Police's 30th anniversary. They are soon expected to confirm the dates of their first tour in more than two decades.
As previously announced, frontman Sting is currently touring in support of his lute album, 'Songs From the Labyrinth'. He will release a new CD/DVD package 'The Journey And The Labyrinth: The Music Of John Dowland' on February 20 via Deutsche Grammophon.
