Reunited rock trio out perform all others in North America
Reunited rock heavyweights The Police had the highest earning tour in North America in 2007, it has been revealed.
The band's hugely anticipated 54 dates across America and Canada brought them in $131.9m (£66.5m), almost double the total of the second-placed act, country star Kenny Chesney.
In a list dominated by country acts and reformed bands, Van Halen, another group of rock veterans who got back together this year, were fifth on the list, taking in $56.7m. Genesis were eighth with $47.6m.
The totals were compiled by American trade publication Pollstar.
