The Prodigy have announced details of a new UK tour, set to kick off in Liverpool on December 7.

The six-date tour will culminate with a late-night show at the London Brixton Academy on December 13, which will finish at 3am (BST).

The band have announced that they will play a larger tour in 2009 in bigger venues than those they will play during the newly-announced jaunt. A new album is expected from the band around the same time.

Tickets for the new tour go on sale next Thursday (August 21).

The Prodigy will play:

Liverpool Carling Academy (December 7)
Glasgow Carling Academy (8)
Birmingham Carling Academy (9)
Sheffield Carling Academy (11)
London Brixton Carling Academy (12, 13)
