The Prodigy have been confirmed as the third and final headline act for Sonisphere 2014.

The Knebworth bash was cancelled in 2013 and 2012 but returns this year with Iron Maiden and Metallica making their only UK festival appearances at the event. The Prodigy will headline the event on
Friday, July 4.

Promising to perform new tracks from the band's forthcoming new album, Liam Howlett of The Prodigy says, "We cant wait to play Sonisphere 2014, we will be hitting you with some brand new beats and noise."

A spokesperson for the festival says: "We are ecstatic to announce that the Prodigy will be making a triumphant return to Knebworth to take up the position as the Friday night headliner on Sonisphere 2014, having previously played a legendary show with Oasis in 1996 to a 250,000 strong crowd. Adding this to the already announced headliner sets of Iron Maiden and Metallica is pretty much guaranteed to get the very foundations of Knebworth House shaking."

Sonisphere 2014 will take place in Knebworth Park between July 4 and 6.
