Stars turn out for The Raconteurs' London debut

Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kate Moss and Jude Law were among the stars who turned out to see Jack White's new band The Raconteurs make their London debut last night (March 23).

The star and fellow bandmates Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler delighted a sold-out crowd at the Astoria with a thrilling hour-long set.

And at the aftershow party, Jack, wearing a top hat and holding a cane, was seen deep in conversation with Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O.

The band, augmented by keyboard player and Benson band regular Dean Fertita, played roughly the same set they’ve been playing through the week on tour.

As well as all the tracks from forthcoming debut album 'Broken Boy Soldiers', out May 15, and new song '5 On The 5' they performed three covers - Sixties psych legends Love's 'A House Is Not A Motel', Seventies rockers The Flamin' Groovies' 'Headin' For The Texas Border'' and ‘It Ain’t Easy’, a song made famous by David Bowie on his 1972 album ‘The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars’.

The Raconteurs album is preceded by the release of ‘Steady, As She Goes’ as a single on April 24. More live dates, including festival appearances, are expected to be announced soon.
