Jack White has revealed all about his future plans with The Raconteurs in his new band’s most in-depth interview yet.

The guitarist has spoken exclusively in this week’s issue of NME – out nationwide today – in what the he has called the band’s “one truly honest interview”.

“This is very much a long-term project for me,” White said of The Raconteurs, who release their debut album ‘Broken Boy Soldiers’ on May 15.

“I always do what’s comfortable to me,” he added. “I always do what feels right. This record happened because I was passionate about doing it, and it’s very much long-term for me. Besides, I could never shoot the bass player in The White Stripes – this band gives me the opportunity.”

For the full interview with The Raconteurs be sure to pick up the latest edition of NME, which also features the secret history of The Libertines, Razorlight’s race against the clock to finish their second album, the ultimate survival guide for the upcoming Radiohead tour and NME holing up in Courtney Love’s hotel room.

Also in the issue, we decide how rock and roll 'The Mighty Boosh' really are and we get down at the front of gigs by The Flaming Lips, Giant Drag and Test Icicles.
