The Raveonettes are set to release their brand new album, 'Observator', on September 10.

The Danish duo – made up of Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo – released their fifth studio album, 'Raven In The Grave', last year, which followed 2009's 'In And Out Of Control'.

Of the title of the new album, Wagner told Spin: "The whole idea with the album title – and the [album] song 'Observations' – came because I feel like I was sort of like, out there observing myself and other people and what goes on around me."

Wagner also said that he went on a three-day bender while working on the album, explaining: "I've always worked like that. I try to channel [drinking] into something creative. I write down simple words for lyrics, song titles, anything. Or it can be actual stories."

The album has been produced by Richard Gottehrer, who also worked on the band's 'Pretty In Black' LP. The new record was recorded at the legendary Sunset Sound studio in Hollywood, something Wagner says he always wanted to do. He revealed: "Some of my favourite albums are from there. As part of the band's 10-year anniversary I wanted to do something special. So I insisted on us going there. I did not regret that at all. I think if we had not gone there the album would be very different and not as good as it is now."
