'GIMME SHELTER' VOTED BEST STONES SONG
'GIMME SHELTER' has been voted Rolling Stones best song of all time by an all-star panel in the new issue of UNCUT magazine.

Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and former Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham are joined by Ryan Adams, Wayne Kramer of the MC5, legendary producer Arthur Baker and others casting votes.

Other tracks to feature in the top ten include 'Street Fighting Man' (2), 'Sympathy For The Devil' (3), 'Satisfaction' (4) and 'We Love You' (10).

The chart, a Top 40 of Rolling Stones tracks, was compiled to mark their 40th anniversary in 2002. Two special covers have been put together along with two CDs mounted on the cover containing versions of a host of the band's classics, including exclusive tracks by the likes of Lambchop, Kelly Jones and Ryan Adams.
