Legendary venue prepares to reopen
The Roundhouse Theatre returns
The legendary Roundhouse Theatre, which played host to the likes of The Rolling Stones and The Doors during the Sixties and Seventies, is to open its doors for the first time in 23 years tonight (June 1).
The historic London venue, based in Camden, closed in 1983 because of financial problems but continued to hold events on an intermittent basis, reports the BBC
Over the last two years, the theatre has undergone a £29.7m facelift to increase it's capacity to 5,000.
The venue has been upgraded by the Norman Trust, which helped raise funds needed for the project through the Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
