Legendary band jump ship…
The Rolling Stones have become the first big name to leave EMI since the company's decision to re-structure, after they signed a new record deal with Universal.
According to The Times, the legendary band have signed a one-album deal with the label.
The new signing will follow the band's current five-year EMI deal, estimated at £14 million, when it expires in May.
A spokesman for the band commented: "The band are looking forward to working with Universal Music and are excited about this new venture."
Meanwhile, the band will release a CD to accompany the Martin Scorsese film 'Shine A Light', in which they are filmed playing two live gigs at New York’s Beacon Theatre in 2006.
