The guitarist is 'seeking help' for alcohol issues

A spokesperson for The Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood has confirmed that the guitarist has entered rehab.

The spokesperson told BBC News that Wood was "seeking help" in a rehab centre for alcohol-related issues.

"Following Ronnie's continued battle with alcohol he has entered a period of rehab," the spokesperson said. "His close family and friends say he is seeking help and look forward to his recovery."

Wood previously entered rehab in 2002, and in 1975 had a plastic septum inserted into his nose after a long-term addiction to cocaine.

Wood's family and friends had become concerned about the guitarist after it was reported that he had started drinking again, and had gone to Ireland with a young model.
