Footage has emerged online of The Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards performing with Hollywood star Johnny Depp.

The pair teamed up at a New York aftershow party for Depp's new movie The Rum Diary earlier this week for a cover of Charlie Segar's 'Key To The Highway', which was re-recorded by the Stones in the 1960s. Watch footage of the collaboration by scrolling down and clicking below.

The actor played guitar with Richards who also took up vocal duties at the Hiro Ballroom in Manhattan's Maritime Hotel.

The duo wrapped up their impromptu performance by hugging each other onstage before jumping into the crowd and heading back to the VIP area.

It was Depp's second surprise show in a week after he teamed up with ZZ Top rocker Billy Gibbons after receiving an award at the Austin Film Festival. Earlier this year he also joined Alice Cooper onstage at the 100 Club in London.

Depp and Richards appeared together in the two most recent Pirates Of The Caribbean movies 'At World's End' and 'On Stranger Tides'.
