The Rolling Stones hint at future tour: 'Once this wheel is turning, we won't be able to stop'

Ronnie Wood hints the band could play more shows after London and New York dates next month (November)

The Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has said the legendary band could play more shows after their forthcoming performances in London and New York next month (November).

Speaking on the red carpet at the premiere of new Stones documentary Crossfire Hurricane yesterday evening (October 18), Wood said: "once this wheel is turning I don't think it will be able to stop ... We won't be able to stop," AP reports.

The comments follow those from singer Mick Jagger, who has also suggested that the 50th anniversary shows this year will not be their last. Asked if the band would be heading to Australia, Jagger said: "Not this week! We're going to go and rehearse this week but I hope to go to Australia. I haven’t been there in years."

On the subject of preparations for the upcoming dates in London and New Jersey, the iconic singer added: "Rehearsals are going really well. We've done loads of songs, we're playing well and everyone's sounding good."

Crossfire Hurricane charts the rise of the band through extensive use of archive footage. Jagger said of the band's ongoing success: "Well, it helps to be alive! We're still working and putting out records and all that sort of thing." Asked if he remembers the early days more vividly than recent times, Jagger smiled: "I remember everything, darling."

The frontman will join his bandmates for two nights at London's O2 Arena on November 25 and 29 to celebrate the Stones' 50th anniversary. They will also be playing two nights at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey in the US on December 13 and 15.
