The Rolling Stones unveil 50th anniversary iPhone app
The Rolling Stones have unveiled their first ever iPhone app.

In partnership with Big Brother creators, TV producer Endemol, and live entertainment promoter Dainty Group, the app is exclusive to Apple's iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and features band interviews, videos and photos, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The free Rolling Stones app is part of the band's 50th anniversary celebrations and also has a paid-for section where fans can unlock exclusive content shot specifically for the app. It will later add a feature that will allow fans to vote for which songs the band play at a concert.

The app also allows the user to connect with others, including the band, preview tracks for free, buy merchandise from the official store and any song from the Rolling Stones' iTunes store. You can watch a trailer for the app below.

Speaking about the app, singer Mick Jagger said: "We wanted to do something a bit special and innovative – an app that really connects with the user, lots of exclusive content, integration with social networks and the ability to make a song request for the upcoming shows."

Meanwhile, guitarist Keith Richards added: "There'll be quite a few surprises in there for the fans; some behind the scenes footage; some old, some new stuff that very few people get to see. It's all part of a rather splendid celebration for us."

The Rolling Stones are set to play two shows at London's O2 Arena later this month (November 25, 29). They will also perform at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on December 8 and at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on December 13 and 15.
