New biography reveals how Mick Jagger was accosted by elderly and sex-crazed Rolling Stones fans
Tome tells of frontman's run-ins with 'vintage vamp' who gave him X-rated photograph
Philip Norman's tome, Jagger, describes how the frontman was regularly accosted by kinky fans, one of whom gave him an erotic photograph of herself and had to be wrestled off him by the police.
Describing an incident in New York, Norman wrote: ''He was stopped on the street by a grey-haired, grandmotherly woman who said she had a photograph she wanted to show him. It proved to be of herself, lying on a bed, naked, with legs spread wide."
When Mick showed distaste, the vintage vamp grabbed his hair and pulled him to the ground. Two or three of the NYPD minders had to work quite hard to disentangle them.'
Detailing another encounter, meanwhile, he added: "Before the Dallas show, Ron [Schneider, tour manager] was approached by a young blonde woman who introduced herself as 'The Butter Queen' and said her handbag contained a pound and a half of butter which she wanted to spread all over Mick's nude body, then lick off. Any other Stone would do equally well, she said, but time was short, as she had to collect her young son from school."
The Rolling Stones are set to play at London's O2 Arena tomorrow (November 25). Yesterday (23), guitarist Ronnie Wood admitted that the iconic band still hadn't finalised a setlist for the show.
Earlier this week, meanwhile, it was confirmed that former band members Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor will join the Stones onstage for their forthcoming London shows. The pair will play with the band for the first time in over 20 years for the concerts at the O2 Arena tomorrow and on Thursday (29).
