Noel Fielding has described The Rolling Stones London gig at the O2 Arena last night (Nov 25) as "fantastic" while Noel Gallagher was spotted hanging out backstage with Rob Zombie as famous fans line up to pay tribute to the band.

A host of celebrity fans of the band have posted their pictures and comments from the gig, which took place at London's O2 Arena on Sunday night (November 25). Talking about his take on the show, Mighty Boosh comedian Noel Fielding told the BBC: "I think Keith played incredibly. Sympathy For The Devil... his lead on that was absolutely amazing." He adds: "Mick came out in a cape which – as always – has got to be a bonus."

Noel Gallagher was spotted posing for a picture with Rob Zombie before the gig started. Zombie is in the UK for a string of live shows with Marilyn Manson and shared the picture on Facebook alongside the comment: "Last night backstage at 02 Arena Rolling Stone's gig with Noel Gallagher."

Celebrity fans such as Fearne Cotton and celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo posted tweets from the gig while Mary J. Blige, who performed with the band, posted the message: "So much fun performing in London w/ the @RollingStones! Congrats on your 50th anniversary!"

The concert itself was a star-studded affair with a video showing clips of Stones fans including Iggy Pop, Elton John and AC/DC’s Angus Young explaining what the Stones mean to them playing before the band arrived onstage. One of the talking heads, actor Johnny Depp, described their songs as “music that makes you want to do bad things”. Next, a tribe of percussionists wearing gorilla masks – a nod to the new compilation ‘GRRR!’ – paraded around the arena, before the band launched into the Lennon-McCartney-penned ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’.
