The Rolling Stones are rumoured to be announcing details of a new world tour, including UK dates, later today (April 3).

The band, who will headline Glastonbury in June, first sparked rumours about further live dates when a message on their official website emerged on Friday (March 29) which read: "Five days and counting." Numerous hints at live shows have been posted on the band's Twitter page as well, including questions to fans about the songs they most want to see the band perform. Billboards featuring names of a number of the band's biggest hit singles alongside the Stones’ signature tongue logo have also appeared around America.

According to Mick Jagger on Twitter, the #startmeupwednesday announcement will be made at 9am New York time (2pm BST).

According to The Mirror, tickets for the new shows could cost up to £330 with each band member likely to make £650,000 each per show. However, a source close to the band said that there would be more affordable tickets available, telling the paper some tickets would be available for £95 which is "cheaper than Madonna". Continuing, the source adds: "Some of the tour tickets are going to be costly but this is the biggest band in the world. There will be dates which will suit all pockets."

The Rolling Stones performed twice in the UK in 2012, performing sell-out shows at London's O2 Arena. Guests at the shows included Mick Taylor, Eric Clapton, Mary J Blige and Florence Welch.
