The Rolling Stones will headline a huge show at Hyde Park in London on July 6, it has been confirmed.

The rock legends will perform at the central London location as part of the Barclaycard presents British Summer Time festival. Support on the day will come from The Vaccines, The Temper Trap, Gary Clark Jr and King Charles, plus Palma Violets, Tribes, The Boxer Rebellion and more across three other stages. Tickets for The Rolling Stones in Hyde Park go on general sale at 9am Friday, April 5.

Speaking about the gig, which will be the first time The Rolling Stones have performed in Hyde Park since 1969, Mick Jagger told BBC News: "It's great to be playing the centre of London in July. it should be a beautiful evening." Moving on to talk about the last time the band played Hyde Park, when he performed wearing a white dress, Jagger continued: "It was a free concert, Brian Jones had recently died. There were a lot of nerves, it was a crazy thing to do. In the end it was a landmark concert. I tend to choose my dresses at the last minute. I can still get into it, I'm not worried about that bit."

Inevitably, the price of tickets to see the band arose also, with Jagger claiming that, "There will still be room for a few free ones over the fence," at Hyde Park before mentioning how often the issue of ticket prices is discussed by the band, saying it is "sometimes quite a lot and sometimes not enough. I'm not obsessed with ticket prices."

In addition to the London live date, the band have also announced details of a US and Canada tour with nine headline shows confirmed for Los Angeles, Oakland, San Jose, Las Vegas, Anaheim, Toronto, Chicago, Boston and Philadelphia.
