Morrissey to quit music?

Moz says he doesn't plan to go on much longer

Just as he's preparing to release a new album, Morrissey has threatened to quit making music in the near future.

Morrissey, whose new album 'Years Of Refusal', is due out in February, said in a recent interview that he wants to avoid losing his dignity by staying in the music business too long.

“I don’t want to go on much longer, really," he told Filter. "I think that would suggest a lack of imagination. A certain lack of dignity also. There has to reach a point where you’ve said enough, I think.”

Meanwhile, Morrissey has revealed details of the first single from his new album, as previously reported.

On the day that his mentality catches up with his biology he'll probably be gutted to learn that his talent retired 22 years before the rest of him did.

Yeah, it is about time Mozza gave it a rest, he doesn’t have anything meaningful in his life to sing about anymore, heard it all before, his lyrics have become more and more contrived and less and less relevant. Vauxhall and I was his last amazing album, but that beginning of the end, after that there was nothing left to say. Every release since then has diluted his legacy, especially the last 2 albums which are shite.

Doubledong -whatawasteoftime is indeed a complete waste of time. Probably an American Bush supporting inbred fool. I would miss Morrissey, but maybe he's feeling he's run out of things to say. He's done some stuff that's not as good as others, but if you've made albums as good The Queen Is Dead, Vauxhall and I or I am the Quarry, you've produced a lot of masterpieces.

aw well, with the decline in his recent work, i suppose he cant go on recording new stuff forever. but he can still tour to pay the bills and play the classics to his millions of fans.

I think he should continue. If he has the imagination he claims to have, he should use it to come up with something musically interesting. He's still talented, just needs to use his imagination a bit more in his music.
