‘The Social Network’ team working on ‘Sex On The Moon’ film

New project based on book proposal by Ben Mezrich

Key members of the team behind The Social Network are reuniting to work on a new movie.

The new film will be called Sex On The Moon and is based on a book proposal by Ben Mezrich, who wrote The Accidental Billionaires, on which Aaron Sorkin based his script for The Social Network.

Mezrich previously penned the book that became the Kevin Spacey film 21.

Sex On The Moon tells the story of Thad Roberts, a former NASA scientist who hatched a plan in 2004 to steal moon rocks from the Johnson Space Center and sell them on the internet.

His motivation was wanting to impress his girlfriend – literally ‘giving her the moon’.

The LA Times reports that Sony has optioned the rights to the story and will collaborate on the film with The Social Network producers Scott Rudin, Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti as well as executive producer Spacey.
