Hotly-tipped San Diego band The Muslims have changed their name to The Soft Pack.
The band, whose music has been compared to that of The Strokes and Pavement said that the name change came about because they were starting a "new chapter" in their lives.
Writing on their old MySpace page, MySpace.com/themuslims, the four-piece wrote, "Working on new material and firing on all four cylinders, we feel strongly about this one. It's a new chapter in our lives and hopefully yours."
