Spice Girls unveil airplane in their name
'Spice One' takes off at LAX
The Spice Girls have revealed the name of a Virgin Atlantic jumbo jet named in their honour.
The band were on hand at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) last night (December 12) to unveil the Boeing 747 that has been christened 'Spice One'.
As promotion for their on-going reunion world tour, the band held a competition in which fans attempted to come up with the winning name for the jet.
The Girls selected three finalists and let online voters determine the winner. The final three competing names were Spice Girl, Girl Power and Spice One.
The winning name came from Diogo Yomane of Brazil.
The Spice Girls released their debut album with the Virgin record label in 1996.
