Victoria Beckham released a statement as soon as she exited Prince William and Kate Middleton's Royal Wedding earlier today (April 29) - and perhaps unsurprisingly her comments focused on the bride's dress.

The Spice Girls singer and sometime fashion designer said Kate looked "wonderfully elegant" during the ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London.

After attending the nuptials with her husband David, Victoria paid tribute to the "beautiful and heartfelt" ceremony, reports BBC News.

"Catherine looked wonderfully elegant, and we were honoured to be part of such a special, historical day for our country," the Beckhams said.

"We wish Catherine and William much love and happiness for the future," they added.

Elton John, who attended the ceremony with his partner David Furnish, has also had his say on the Royal Wedding, telling reporters as he left the venue: "It's not the Oscars."

Ellie Goulding is reported to be playing a version of Elton John's 'Your Song' at the couple's reception later today.
