John Squire's Stone Roses reunion 'Statement' to be auctioned
Art-work to go on under the hammer on July 1
Former Stone Roses guitarist John Squire is set to auction off a piece of artwork he created to send the message that he is not interested in reforming the legendary Manchester band.
Squire created the artwork, entitled 'Statement', in March – with it now set to go under the hammer at Christie's auction house in London on July 1.
The artwork (pictured) features the message "I have no desire whatsoever to desecrate the grave of seminal Manchester pop group The Stone Roses", and was created following press speculation that the band were set to reunite. They split in 1996.
