The Stone Roses' Reni speaks out about reunion rumours

The Stone Roses' former drummer Alan 'Reni' Wren has got in touch with NME to respond to rumours that the band are set to announce their reformation next week.
Rumours are swirling that an announcement that the Manchester legends are returning to the live music scene will be made on Tuesday (October 18). And tonight (15) Reni became the first member of the band to break ranks, sending an ambiguous message to NME about the reports.
His message read:
"Not before 9T will I wear the hat 4 the Roses again"
Reni quit The Stone Roses in March 1995 and was replaced by Robbie Maddix. In the late '90s he briefly played in a new band, The Rub, and was also rumoured to have been asked to drum for the Fun Lovin' Criminals in 2007.
The reunion rumour flared up this afternoon, with a major music publicist refusing to confirm or deny that Tuesday's announcement would indeed be declaring the band's return. It follows news breaking last April that singer Ian Brown and guitarist John Squire had met up for what was thought to be the first time since the band's 1996 split.
