NME.COM users have voted 'I Am The Resurrection' as the greatest ever song by The Stone Roses.

Our readers have been picking their favourite 20 tracks by the Madchester legends following their reunion, which was confirmed at a press conference last month.

'I Am The Resurrection' – with its famous instrumental outro – is the closing track of the band's 1989 self-titled debut LP, and was later released as a single in 1992, when it reached Number 33 in the UK charts.

The song is currently ahead of their anthems 'I Wanna Be Adored' and 'She Bangs The Drums' in the poll, while other popular tracks from 'The Stone Roses' include 'Waterfall', 'This Is The One' and 'Made Of Stone'.

The band's second LP, 1994's 'The Second Coming', is less well-represented with only one song from the album, 'Love Spreads', finding a place in the Top 10, although standalone singles 'Fool's Gold' and 'Sally Cinnamon' do make the list.

The Top 10 is as follows:

1. 'I Am The Resurrection'
2. 'I Wanna Be Adored'
3. 'She Bangs The Drums'
4. 'Waterfall'
5. 'Fool's Gold'
6. 'Made Of Stone'
7. 'This Is The One'
8. 'Elephant Stone'
9. 'Sally Cinnamon'
10. 'Love Spreads'

The Stone Roses are rumoured to be following their Heaton Park gigs with festival dates at V Festival and T In The Park next year, while British filmmaker Shane Meadows is in line to make a documentary about the shows next year, with reports suggesting The Stone Roses will give official confirmation that they're up for it over the next several weeks.
