The Stone Roses played 1989's classic 'The Stone Roses' in full last night for the first time since their reunion.

The band, who were headlining Les Nuits de Fourvière Festival in Lyon, France, played all tracks from their debut album, including 'Elizabeth My Dear', which they have so far not played on any of their official reunion dates.

Earlier on in the festival, Manchester United football legend Eric Cantona joined former Clash man Mick Jones onstage for a rendition of the band's 1982 single 'Should I Stay Or Should I Go'.

The Stone Roses were headlining the Lyon date of the Justice Tonight tour, which is supporting the Hillsborough Justice Campaign.

They played:

'I Wanna Be Adored'
'Mersey Paradise'
'(Song For My) Sugar Spun Sister'
'Sally Cinnamon'
'Where Angels Play'
'Shoot You Down'
'Bye Bye Badman'
'Ten Storey Love Song'
'Standing Here'
'Fools Gold'
'Something's Burning'
'Waterfall'
'Don't Stop'
'Love Spreads'
'Made Of Stone'
'This Is The One'
'She Bangs The Drums'
'Elizabeth My Dear'
'I Am The Resurrection'

Last night's show was the final date before the band's sell-out homecoming gigs in Manchester's Heaton Park, which will kick off on Friday (June 29). The band played a last-minute surprise comeback gig on May 23 in Warrington - which was their first performance in 16 years.

With just three days to go until Heaton Park, pick up a copy of this week's NME, which is available on newsstands from tomorrow or digitally, for the ultimate guide to Heaton Park.

NME's definitive review of the Stone Roses homecoming shows will hit newsstands next Wednesday (July 4) – if you want your photos to be included in the issue, tweet us your Heaton Park pictures or post them to Instagram using the hashtag #heatonparknme
