Weather forecast improves for The Stone Roses' Heaton Park show today (June 29)

But people heading down to the reunion gigs should still pack their waterproofs

The Stone Roses play the first date of their three Heaton Park shows tonight (June 29) and though the weather forecast has improved slightly from yesterday (June 28), rain is still set hit the site.

According to the Met Office, it will be overcast for most of the day with a couple of light showers in the early afternoon.



After that though, it should be dry, meaning The Stone Roses and support bands Primal Scream, The Vaccines, The Wailers and Kid British are all set to play rain-free sets.

Prospects for Saturday (June 30) and Sunday (July 1) are still pretty bleak, with heavy rain forecast for throughout Saturday and for early morning on Sunday, although the sun is expected to come out for band's closing performance on Sunday night.
