Band head to South America to showcase third album

The Strokes are in South America preparing for their first tour of the year.

The band have now completed work on their third album ’First Impressions Of Earth’, which is set for release on January 9.

To celebrate and roadtest the new material, the group will go to Brazil, starting with a sold-out show tonight a the Rio de Janeiro Museum of Modern Art (October 21).

From there, the band visit Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre, Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile.

Currently there are no UK shows confirmed, although the band are planning a tour for next year. However, two more new songs have leaked online, '15 Minutes' and 'You Only Live Once'.
