The Strokes announce new date
The band confirm club gig Down Under
As revealed on NME.COM last week, the band will play their first show in Tokyo tonight (November 14), before moving on to do club shows in Sydney, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Berlin, Milan and Madrid until mid-December, as part of a worldwide trek to promote their eagerly awaited third album, 'First Impressions Of Earth'.
Tickets for the Sydney show will be released at 9am the day before the gig on Tuesday, November 22. Fans have been instructed to head in person to either Red Eye Records in central Sydney, or Fish Records in the inner-west suburb of Newtown, where they’ll be able to purchase a ticket and have a wristband attached.
Both outlets will have 300 tickets each and will sell them on a strict one-per-person basis. Fans will then need both the ticket and the wristband still attached to get in to the gig the following night.
The last time such strict rules for purchasing tickets were applied to a show in Sydney was for the ’ intimate Enmore Theatre appearance in February 2003.
As previously reported on NME.COM, a source close to the band revealed that the London secret show is scheduled for the end of this month.
The Strokes release their new album 'First Impressions Of Earth' in the UK on January 2, preceded by a single 'Juicebox' on December 5.
