The Strokes have confirmed they’ll be playing the T In The Park festival.

The band, who headlined in 2004, will play the event on the Sunday (July 9).

Franz Ferdinand,Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Who have already been announced as the headliners for this year's event.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline on the Saturday July 8 and The Who will headline on the Sunday July 9.

Saturday night also sees the Kaiser Chiefs and Sigur Ros playing the Main Stage.

Primal Scream will headline the King's Tut Tent and Felix Da Housecat will headline the Slam Tent, both on Sunday.

Arctic Monkeys and The Ordinary Boys are also scheduled to play.

T In The Park 2006 takes place at Balado, Kinross near Glasgow.
