The Strokes have recorded a cover version of Marvin Gaye's 'Mercy Mercy Me' with Pearl Jam and Josh Homme.

The track is expected to feature as a b-side on their forthcoming 'You Only Live Once' single, reports Billboard.

Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder shares the vocals with Julian Casablancas on the track while Josh Homme and Fabrizio Moretti share drum duties.

'You Only Live Once' is set for release on July 10.

The track will be the third to be lifted from the band's latest album 'First Impressions Of Earth'.

As previously announced, The Strokes are performing at the O2 Wireless, Benicassim, Oxegen and T In The Park festivals during the summer, plus will be appearing as special guests of the Foo Fighters at Manchester's Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

The band will play:

Manchester Old Trafford Cricket Ground (June 18)
London O2 Wireless Festival (21)
Ireland Oxegen Festival (July 8)
T In The Park (9)
